Ustādhah Saaima Yacoob
Saaima Yacoob is the founder of Recite With Love. She was born in Karachi and moved to the United States when she was ten years old. She holds a bachelor’s in English and a master’s in education with a concentration in curriculum and instruction from George Mason University. She has over two decades of teaching experience and has taught students of all ages, from toddlers to adults, Alhamdulillah. She received her first ijāzah in the narration of Ḥafṣ in 2010 from Sheikh Hatim Yousseff. She continued her studies in Jordan, receiving ijāzah in Ḥafs from Sheikh Hussain Ashraq Laban and in Qālūn from the ṭarīq of Ṭayyibah from Sheikh Abdullah Abū Maḥfūẓ. Saaima received ijāzah in the ten canonical recitations of the Qurʾān in the ṭarīq of al-Shāṭibiyyah wa al-Durrah from Mufti Mohamed-Umer Esmail (May Allah have mercy on him) and also completed his tajwīd curriculum with him. Since 2021, she has been studying with Qārī Najm al-Ṣabīḥ Thānwī, may Allah protect him, and holds ijāzah from him in ʿasharah kubra and many other texts in the sciences of the Qurʾān. She is an author and editor of books on qirāʾāt, tajwīd, rasm, waqf, and ḍabṭ and has also authored five children’s books. She lives with her husband and son in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Ustādhah Sulma Badrudduja
Sulma Badrudduja holds a Master’s in Education and began studying the Arabic language and the religious sciences over twenty years ago. She studied traditional Islamic disciplines in Jordan and while there, received several ijāzās in Qurʾānic recitation and memorization. She received her ijāzah in the ʿasharah ṣughra with the late Mufti Mohamed-Umer Esmail, may Allah have mercy on him, and in the ʿasharah kubra with Qārī Najm al-Ṣabīh Thanwī, may Allah protect him. Along with teaching the qirāʾāt, she has edited the qirāʾāt books of her late teacher, Mufti Mohamed-Umer Esmail. She currently teaches and continues her studies. She lives in Kentucky with her husband and children.
Ustādh Ahmed Zayed
Ahmed Zayed graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in finance and thereafter traveled to Jordan to complete a year in Arabic Studies. Later, he completed the one-year, Foundational Islamic Studies program at Qalam Seminary in Dallas, Texas and is currently enrolled in their ʿĀlimiyyah program. He has permission to transmit and teach texts of tajwīd, and the ten canonical recitations of the Qurʾān through Recite With Love. He has also studied the sciences of waqf and ibtidāʾ and rasm and ḍabṭ at Recite With Love and is the author of Required to Stop: An Explanation of Waqf Lāzim. Ahmed works in IT project management and teaches tajwīd and qirāʾāt. He currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts with his wife.
Ustādhah Habeeba Husain
Habeeba Husain holds a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in Journalism & Media Studies and Religion. She has written for a number of publications and currently writes for WhyIslam.org, while helping manage Muslim-owned, small business Kamani Clothing.
She holds ijāzah in Ḥafṣ from the ṭarīq of both al-Shāṭibiyyah and al-Durrah and al-Ṭayyibah from Ustadha Saaima Yacoob. She also holds ijāzah in the classical texts of Tuḥfat al-Aṭfāl, Jazariyyah, ʿAqīlat Atrāb and others. After completing her ijāzah in Ḥafṣ, she continued to study qirāʾāt at Recite With Love and has permission to transmit and teach the ten canonical recitations of the Qurʾān. While continuing her studies in ʿashrah kubrā, Ustadha Habeeba teaches tajwīd and qirāʾāt at Recite With Love. She is continuously amazed with just how much there is to discover about the Qurʾān.
Ustādhah Sabah Shaikh
Saba Shaikh holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California and completed her ʿĀlimiyyah at Zainab Center International. She has permission to transmit and teach the ten canonical recitations of the Qurʾān through Recite With Love. She has also studied the sciences of tajwīd, waqf and ibtidāʾ and rasm at Recite With Love. She currently teaches tafsīr and other subjects at Zainab Center International and teaches qirāʾāt at Recite With Love. Ustādhah Sabah is the author of The Three Qurrāʾ and Their Ruwāt and Summarizing al-Durrah. She considers herself a life-long student, continuing her studies in both fiqh and Qur’anic studies with her teachers.
Ustādhah Sumaiya Desai
Sumaiya Desai was born and raised in Canada and traveled to India to pursue formal Islamic education and earned her ʿĀlimiyyah degree from Jameatus Swalehat in Malegaon. Ustādha Sumaiya’s passion for the Qurʾān and the science of tajwīd lead her to further specialize in the field of Qurʾānic recitation. She holds multiple ijāzāt in the riwāyah of Ḥafs, Warsh, and the ten canonical recitations of the Qurʾān. She received her ijāzah in ʿasharah ṣughra from Al-Fatiha Learning Academy in Toronto, Canada. She also holds ijāzah in ʿasharah ṣughra from Recite With Love and is currently studying the major canonical recitations, ʿasharah kubra, at Recite With Love. With two decades of teaching experience, Ustadha Sumaiya continues to teach and lives with her husband and four children in Canada.
Ustādhah Amirah Ahmad
Amirah Ahmad is a ḥāfiẓah and originally from Maryland. She pursued her studies in Arabic and Islamic sciences in Jordan before earning a bachelor’s in Fiqh and Uṣūl al-Fiqh from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. She is currently in the final year of her ʿĀlimiyyah studies as well. She holds an ijāzah in al-‘Asharah al-Ṣughra through Recite with Love. While continuing her studies in al-‘Asharah al-Kubra, she teaches qirāʾāt at Recite With Love. She resides in Dallas, TX with her husband, where she serves as a teacher and nonprofit consultant.
